How much to feed with a raw meat diet

Generally, feed 1/2 pound (or 8 ounces) of raw meat mixture daily for a 25 pound dog. Rapidly growing or active dogs may need more, whereas older and inactive dogs may need less.

If feeding dry kibble along with a raw meat diet, cut the above in half. As an example, I feed my cocker 1/2 cup of dry kibble in the morning, and 1/2 cup of the raw meat mixture in the evening. My chihuahua gets 1/4 cup dry kibble in the morning, and 1/4 cup raw meat mixture in the evening. My chihuahua is on the larger side weighing about 11 pounds, so this would be too much for the smaller chihuahua's. I have also read several sources that say you should not combine dry or canned food with the raw meat meal, but instead feed them in separate meals. Apparently it can affect digestion to have the cooked food in the intestines at the same time as the raw food.
