Our newest pet - Mr. Toad

This little toady has been hanging around our yard for about 8 weeks now. It's unusual because we don't live by a creek or body of water, and haven't seen any around here before. This morning I walked into the garage and there he sat right in front of the door, bold as can be watching me walk past him, and then continued to watch me work around him. A little while later he was sunning himself on our walkway between the house and garage, and didn't mind a bit when I got the camera and snapped his picture from about a feet away.

Ever since he's been hanging around, I've been a bit concerned that Rosie, the infamous baby bunny eater, would try to gut him too. Instead, she sat cowering in the corner of the garage and wouldn't walk past the toad, and wouldn't come into the house while he was "blocking" her path. I can only assume they've had a run in already and the toad was the victor.

I guess Rosie finally met up with a wild creature she couldn't intimidate. Score one for Mr. Toad.
