Petland using puppy mills

With Christmas around the corner, many families are contemplating buying a pet as a gift. Here's some information you need to know about Petland, the largest chain of puppy-selling stores in the U.S., Canada, and other countries. Petland claims they get their pups from caring pet professionals with high standards, but the Humane Society of the United States has uncovered that Petland is the # 1 supporter of puppy mills. Not only are puppy mills cruel in the way they house and treat the mother dogs, because of the unsanitary conditions the pups may be more prone to health problems initially and later in life.

Watch this video, then take action here which will send an email to voice your objection to this practice. You can take it a step further by contacting your nearest Petland store and tell them to get out of the puppy mill business by clicking here.

I've done all of the above. It only takes a couple minutes, so would you all please help be a voice for these poor dogs who can't speak for themselves- no dog should have to live their life in a cage. Thanks everyone!

Thank you so much for posting this again Chris. Our local Humane Society did their own investigation and they closed some down around here too, thank God, this garbage is disgusting.

By the way, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Thanks Jodi, we had a wonderful day with our family. Yes, the puppy mill situation is disgusting-it's a real black mark on our society what is allowed to be done to animals.

Our local pet store is part of a small chain in California. They have rescue organizations come in on week ends to show homeless pets. They don't make money from it, but it is a lot of goodwill and people who adopt a homeless pet will come back to shop.

It is an admitted fact that Puppy Mills should be stopped at once. Now I get surprised to know that even top-rated store like Petland is somehow supporting this cruel act.
Thanks for sharing the video link.

Thanks for spreading the word against puppy mills. It is horrifying how some animals are treated.

I did a few peaceful protests in front of Petland a few years ago. They disgust me. Thank you for making people aware!

This is exactly why there is so much to be said for getting an animal from a rescue centre. The less people support this types of thing (whether they know they are or not) the better.
