If you or someone in your family is allergic to cats, but you still would like to have one, you're probably considering one of the breeds advertised as being hypoallergenic. But is there such a thing as a hypoallergenic cat?
For starters, studies have shown that male cats produce more allergens than female cats. And neutered males usually produce less allergens than non-neutered males. Dark colored cats tend to cause more sneezing and wheezing than light colored cats. Some say that Rex cats cause less allergic reaction, most likely because they have less hair.
But according to Cat-world.com, there is no such thing as a hypoallergenic breed of cats. To read more from Cat-world.com, CLICK HERE.

My mom has always said she is allergic to cats and I never got to have one growing up. Now that I have cats of my own, I have never seen her have an allergic reaction around them. Certain cats must cause more of an allergic reaction for her than others.
