I recently came across a relatively new blog entitled "The Worst Is Yet To Come: Be Prepared, Don't Panic, Have a Plan." The blog deals with many scenarios, but there are 2 posts I wanted to share with you pertaining to dogs, along with their book entitled "Worst-Case Scenario Pocket Guide: Dog" in which you'll find all kinds of useful pet tips.
The first post is entitled "Dogs: Companionship Meets Cancer Detection. It deals with hypo-alert dogs trained to detect chemical changes in people which alert them to illness or disease, as well as information to help you choose the best dog breed based on personality.
The second post is entitled "Vampires, Skunks and Very Smelly Dogs" which deals with what to do if your pouch encounters a skunk. Anyone who lives in a rural area and has smelled the essence of skunk knows that a simple washing will not remove the horrible lingering odor, so these tips are very helpful.
I hope you give this blog a look and find the author's posts useful.
